10 years an a valver and nothing really major.....I buy a 'sensible' car and this......
The moral of the story?
Dont let anybody tell you to go buy a sensible car!!!!!!
You brought the 'wrong' sensible car lol
Love my vectra....its everything the clio isn't lol
wow thats seriously scary
not that its an excuse for a ball joint to come off like that but
were you taking the corner a little fast ??
buy a sensible car, think you have to drive it sensible aswell
yea but its a rover, y u think they went out of business
The reason this happened is that a circlip was not replaced on the nut, that holds the bolt, that holds the lower wishbone and balljoint onto the hub.
As you can see in the picture it has a new cv boot (the reason that the bolt was removed) and a hole were the bolt should be.
This is a known problem on honda's (the rover 400 and 45's have honda running gear) and this is the reason that I wouldn't buy a honda civic or accord of this era now either. BMW's for instance have two bolts holding this bit on so that this stands less of a chance of happening.
I was going 10mph pulling away from lights in a straight line when this happened.
I had however, just made a 200 mile round trip to bristol on the motorway............
