but to get one on gunner....to have a bung fitted u need a hole.

So if he wants i can weld a piece of new metal in...all he has to do is filler and paint it.

Working as a design/production engineer I have to disagree with your idea. Welding, would pull the metal in on the tailgate meaning lots of filling and a larger area to make good. When I did my flush tailgate (which is still in shed LOL) I was advised by a bodyshop to bond a plate of the inside and then locally fill the area. This results in a lot lot better finish without the distortion the heat from the welding torch would cause.

Me and my mates bonded 2p's to delock are novas lol never again :lol:....best left to the pro's
