The ball joints at either end of the rack is what I am refering to. I need to replace these before an mot.

Is this possible or will I need to replace the rack?

Any advice would be appreciated :D

you need the actual track rod (not the end)

they unscrew off the rack (but usually take a lot of persuading :(

Do you mean the ball joints on the very end which bolt onto the hub or the ball joints at the inner ends of the rods?

The ball joint at the opposite end of the track rod to the hub is the one that needs replacing.

there just a form of pliers which when turned 1 way will only get tighter as the teeth point that way, very good for stuff like that

btw Euro car parts sell the complete tie rods and track rod ends for williams, iirc there about £30+ each side

there Febi products which are bilstien

i took my subframe off and left the rack on

stood on the subframe

attached molegrips as tightly as I could

used some scaffold pole over the mole grips

and eventually they came undone!

borrowed a pair of those off a mate to take my trackrod ends out off the rack with, great tools but could still only do one of the ends, and left nastly teeth marks in the metal of the rack, good tool tho am gonna buy my own asap!!

Haynes states this is a must change item.
Did the Track rod from GSF include the 'Track rod end' also?
