He wants to do a deal with my Accord Type R and i'm booke in to have a butchers.

What do you think it could be worth? I'm just worried if i did a deal it wouldnt be worth much when i come to sell.

Its had one owner. He says its mint. Got the standard wheels...

Tom16v

Also, whats the lieklyhood of it running 192 bhp atw? Not much i'd imagen? He says he has the RR print out and its deffo atw power.

Like I said on CS fella, looks nice (shame its a 3, lol) I dont think 200 at the wheels is unrealistic with them mods, dunno who did the work tho...

Tom16v
07-11-2007, 13:46
thought i'd get a better response on here...lol. I'll find out exactlt. he mentioned prima, ktec etc Dont think it was prima that put the bodies on though.

So you think it really could be around 230 at the fly? Oh and whats wrong with 3's?

looks to be a bargain at that price fella 8)

People are always going on about what version of Williams is the best, dont worry about it. 3 has a few bits the others didn't, such as ABS and the stereo control arm on steering wheel etc.

He was offering 2 other sets of wheels for the car as well in an old he had. Seems the price has dropped since then so he has probably sold them seperately. Nice looking car though and 1 owner is rare.

Oh and whats wrong with 3's?

Renault made a mistake and painted them the wrong colour

sounds like a great car....ask to see evidence mate of what its made on the rollers and 1/4mile....good luck with the sale

Yup defo Prima. Power is a bit optimistic, I would say 200bhp at the fly is a better figure (coincidentally what prima market that kit at, as he says in the advert also).

Tom16v
07-11-2007, 14:49
Thats just the straight 2.1 conversion apparently then his has the bodies, mani etc on top.

I'm awaiting pics of the rr graph so we'll see.

I prefer the colour of willy 3's.

bendee
07-11-2007, 18:15
if i bought it id sticky my williy wheels on it and refurb them back to gold and stick them on my hybrid and sell it.

cars a extra 543 on my insurance over the price of my hybrid (1.8 on insurance)

Oh and whats wrong with 3's?

Girly colour, ABS, sunroof, leccy mirrors etc = ghey, lol.

BUY IT!

TBH with any old hot hatch you would prob struggle to sell it, limited market, boy racers only buy these sort of cars, and old boy racers too!! :o

But your not buying it for that mate, but the hours of fun and enjoyment it will bring you! In all honesty though with a car like that providing you look after it I cant see you struggling to sell it.

Do the deal if its sweet.

Just look after it if you buy it!!!

rediculously cheap for what it is, i'd get a good look at the car and the guy beforehand. you'd struggle to get a willy in such good nick for 4grand let alone with bodies and 3 large!

if the guy and the car weigh up and all seems good n well, along with a HPI check i'd have is arm and possible a large chunk of his torso off for that!

bendee

he sent me a pic of the rollingroad graph from what i can see and he says its 285nm of torque and around 195 brake i think.

I'll guarantee you 100% now that it wont be running anything near 200bhp at the wheels... not on a Webber kit. Still, should be rapid in a light weight car and looks good value. My only concern would be this Prima 2.1 BE, as they have a bit of a rep

bendee
08-11-2007, 16:37
so whats the general thought on the car any good?

i dont want to be buying a turnip lol

stan
08-11-2007, 17:52
The whole 2.1 thing is bullshit....2050cc perhaps, using 84mm pistons. Then you have sealing issues with the head/block.

Daz
08-11-2007, 18:23
3's always drive better than a 1 or 2.. I wish I'd have kept my 3 to be honest, heh. :D

Williams 3's drive better - FACT!

bendee
08-11-2007, 19:14
so does the car have potential issues? or would it be a decent buy?

MAXIBOY
08-11-2007, 22:48
should be a decent buy but cant understand why they ever went 84mm as it does not gain enough if anything over 83mm but can cause block to head sealing issues and gasket problems.

he sent me a pic of the rollingroad graph from what i can see and he says its 285nm of torque and around 195 brake i think.

so is that 195bhp at the wheels of the fly?

bendee
12-11-2007, 10:56
in th add it says the wheels so id guess atw

bill.
12-11-2007, 11:06
bet it fair shifts! 8)

Tom16v
12-11-2007, 13:17
Well he says its at the wheels. He sent me a kinda blurry pic of the rr and i reckon its says at the fly...

bill.
12-11-2007, 18:00
yeah, see what you mean does look like it says at the fly wheel, strange thing for him to say though if its at the fly wheel he should just say so! lol

bill.
13-11-2007, 18:38
so if this is 190 bhp at the flywheel is this a good or poor power figure for the work done to it? i would have expected more from the spec am i wrong?

and has it potential for much more horse power?

Jamie.
13-11-2007, 23:10
I dont think that is great power from the listed modifications.

stan
14-11-2007, 11:09
Modifications which realistically increase power are the throttle bodies, the cams (really depends on spec...but "fast road" is never anything to right home about), and forged pistons (a couple of % for increased Cr, depending on what they are).

I would say 200bhp is about right for those modifications. And that will be at the fly. Dont be sucked in...this 2.1litre is bollocks.

bendee
14-11-2007, 12:50
umm dont think ill bother then think ill look out for a ph1 172

bill.

so pressumably this is still a good spec, with lots of potential? ie, swapping the cams over and some headwork could see some good gains right? could it then be seeing 200 at the wheels?

do the webber throttle body kits have limiting factors compared to other throttle body kits out there?

and yes i am interested in this car

freebone16v
14-11-2007, 17:16
i like that, change the rear spoiler and wheels

i would actually contemplate selling the 172 for it

stan
14-11-2007, 23:50
well its not bad for the money, put it that way.

In terms of potential, it has no more potential than a standard engine really....your just a few steps up the tuning ladder to start with...if that makes sense!

Tom16v
15-11-2007, 13:38
Well bearing in mind my old hybrid with simple mods made 185bhp on 3 different RR's i'd say this isnt that great at all?

bill.
15-11-2007, 16:00
yeah, that makes sense stan, the conversion is over 5k from prima apparently, and includes a modified head/cams etc, spoke to the guy at prima about this conversion and asked what power output it would be, you ready for this...........................................240 lol, i hung up shortly afterwards

the owner has told me its 195bhp at the front wheels and 225+ at the flywheel, i'm seriously considering going to have a look at this but its a hell of a journey if what he's saying is a crock of shit

but still seems a lot of car for your money what ever power its running

bill.
15-11-2007, 16:01

200bhp atw :?

So is he running standard head then? Standard valve springs, standard compression, mild cams? Must be running it on race fuel

I'm glad Stan has already replied to this as I would start going on like an old lady on Class A's

bill.
16-11-2007, 17:13
RIGHT THEN...........................after doing a little bit of homework, i found out the true rolling road figures for this car, i've rang up northampton motorsport who did the rolling road on it, gave him the car registration and told him the figures the guy is qouting, did this before i went to work this morning, just rang him back and here's the true rolloing road figures for the car in question.

186 bhp at the flywheel

138 bhp at the wheels

140 lb of torque

So to sum it up

WHAT A TWAT!

Tom16v
16-11-2007, 17:39
