Clio Mk1 Calander Thread [Archive]

As per my post in the 'official' Williamsclio calander proposal I think it would be best to generate two calanders.

All those who want their car included of which does not 'qualify' for the above should include them in here.

By making two calanders you can copy the same design from one to another and just insert the picture desired with no extra effort....

Then we can always see which one out sells the other :wink:

Christ, i knew there was some funny jokes made on here sometimes, but seems as though there are some Clio Williams owners who jump on the snobbery bandwagon along with the likes of Honda Civic Jordan owners. Or the mk2 Trophy owners, check you guys out!

A www.williamsclio.co.uk calender should have MEMBERS cars on it. <FULLSTOP>

Where has all this ghey-ness come from that a williams clio calender can only have williams on it.

and second, the mention of "for once" appearing in the other thread has no relevance - there was only a half arsed calender last year that never came to fruition so this makes it the first year real, or the second if you count last.

i dont mind buying a "also rans" calender if it means having different colours and styles other than just 449 and 432 blues!

I think it would probably be best to do one of each as said above. Same calendar, just with different pictures.
My personal preference would be a Williams' calendar, but having said that i would still buy it even if it wasnt.

This is just total bullshit - **** it why not make a calender full of novas and 2 willys? might aswell thats all it end up with with a load of hybrids and valvers in it...

When mines up in my garage and someone asks me about the calender...

JANUARY: "IS THAT A WILLIAMS"

"NO - ITS A HYBRID"

FEBRUARY "iS THATS A WILLIAMS? I THOUGHT THEY ONLY DID THEM IN BLUE?"

"NO ITS A HYBRID - A DIFFERENT CAR WITH A WILLIAMS ENGINE IN IT"

MARCH "OOO THAT MUST BE A WILLIAMS IT HAS GOLD WHEELS ON IT AND IS BLUE"

"NOPE - THATS A WIDE ARCHED RT WITH WILLY WHEELS ON IT"

Imo it should be as Stew said with a selection of members car. Obviously it should primarily be williams but I don't see the problem with a few hybrids etc as a large number of the members on here don't actually own a williams and I believe a club calender should represent the members of the club. I would say put 6 months with williams, 3 with cup racers and another 3 with hybrids - all spread across the months accordingly.

ive got a valver, and personally i think it should just be of the williams, this is after all, williamsclio, and its the williams that was the top performing clio of its day

ill probably buy it whatever, but at the end of the day its up to who is going to the effort of making it, sometimes people dont realise how much work has to go into something like this

i organised a RR day once, with food for everyone and mag coverage, i wont put myself through that again lol

I'm ****ing this off completely now whats the point in even trying to argue the fact that this is ultimately a williams forum and its members who own williams' want to see a calender full of so called boring blue cars with gold wheels - god forbid they would actually get what they want.

so why not have a page with williams 1, then 2 then 3, also say 0001/press type shots etc, a few club shots from previous FCS shows and then a mix of hybrids/valvers and trackcars????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????

i do think it should mainly contain william's after the club was founded for that reason, i own both a williams and 16v, yet i wouldnt be disapointed to see 16vs etc on, but again i do think there should be enough williams 1/2 and 3 on it

all opinions are considered, otherwise i dont think anyone would of even posted up on here, and just gone ahead and made a calender, the problem is trying to come to some sort of final decision about what cars and how many, after all theres 12 pages!

having so many members and a large mix of williams/hybrids/16v etc etc isnt gonna be easy to pick just 12 cars if theres only 1 car per page, imo there should be several of each car on each page, or a main pic then either a border or just the bottom bit having several cars, ok they wont be as big but it add's vareity and allows more then then 12 ppl to have there cars on it!

if i was any good at designing stuff on the pc i would just try several demos for everyone, but im not lol :lol:

Woah fella I wasn't having a go at you it just seems the general concencious these days....

Surely everyone or at least the majority who joined this forum joined because they were interested in the williams, wanted one or liked them - like I've said before people sell cars move on swap their interests, modify their cars but build friends, have a laugh on forums an no-one in their right mind would say "oi you sold your car - hop it"

What I'm getting at is a lot of people want a williamsclio callender but don't want 12 pages full of the same boring thing...

Why are we celebrating the williams with a forum then if its boring?

i agree im happy to buy one but i wouldnt want to see a williams every month of the year.
even if you dont want CHAVVY valvers or hybrids in it could you at least put in some track cars as northys and evouk cups are really nice.

as started it should be williams biased but a couple of track cars etc or as i said you need 12 different shots even if the cars are all williams to give a bit of variety in the shots if the cars are all the same.

williamsclio can have a 100% williams based calender as it IS williams club

if you want a calender with valvers on it, clio16valver are having wall and desk calenders made for the new year, no crappy williams clio's on that i tell yee ;)

there isnt 12 of us that actually use our williams is there? doesnt mean id want to see a valver fill in all the spces tho

id suggest tho..that we start next years calendar now, that way, by next nov. the arguments shud be settled, and we have 4 seasons to take piccys in..........

lol.mine gets used evry day. well one of them does. its mainly 0051 at the mo tho. school run...shopping.tip runs..evryday car.just what they were made for. not forgetting the few mile scenic route over the moors after dropping the kids off at school .. hehe.

and it drives to and from the tracks its attended so far too. ;)
