Is there any way to get past the MOT if your missing an ABS sensor on the front? I believe for a MOT the light needs to go on when you turn the ignition on and go off when you start the engine...
didnt realise all that was looked at ?
put black tape over it say it ws like that when u bought it lol
Just had mine MOT'd today and the lack of ABS light coming on was not noted even though the ABS computer is still visible from the engine bay. Mine has the two front sensors disconnected, fuse removed and bulb removed from dash.
take the fuse out, doubt they will check for it

I think technically it should be a fail if the car has ABS fitted and its not working... But every garage it 'different' i guess

definatley should fail if the abs warning lamp is on all the time as this indicates an abs fault somewhere, you got it spot on hank3944, the proceedure you mentioned with the light coming on then giong off when starting engine indicates a functioning abs system
like other people have said, best thing to do is take the bulb out cos alot of mot places don't even check it (they didn't notice mine when i had mot done)

Just got myself a new sensor :-( from GMF Motor factors in Cheltenham £51.34 what a nightmare trying to find one..... Thanks for your help guys. I tried taking the fuse out but it put all the speedo rev counter ignition light out. :(
