valver petrol cap,is it possible for the lock to come out of it's casing ? well how the hell do you do it without breaking it ? tips very welcomed,unless some one has one cheap,blue ?

most keys work most locks, might not need to swap it

My tips.
Squirt a helping of WD40 around the inside and then put it on the house radiator for a while, never had any problems with them.

And the keys should not fit different cars, defies the point of having a locking cap.

thanks to mattbrown for that 100% tip,just done it with a little wd and plenty of weight which i have stored up for years,hey presto out it come,now to the ignition any tips ?

There is a small torx screw that needs undoing on the ignition, then just unplug the wires and press in the metal tab and it should slide out.

so hear goes
1,unscrew cover under steering wheel
2,put key in ignition to first position
3,take out tork screw
4,then push out
correct or not ?

Mine opened all the caps of the cars i convoyed to FCS with, think Scott's was the only one that didn't open one, and think that was fatboy's......try it tomorrow Mat :wink:

ai, the petrol cap locks are absolutely trousers, i have one from a 1998 RT 5 door on my car now, opens no problem, doesnt even stick or have to wiggle or anything! good old renault :roll:
