What symptoms were there before it went pop? Strange noises etc. I have been having a problem with my car which I think is a drive shaft joint causing vibration through the steering wheel on fastish left hand bends. Any early signs on yours?

There will be movement in the joint, perpendicular to the direction of the driveshaft, when mine went the vibration came and went, and it was all the time, mainly at motorway speeds.....you sure yours ain't a wheel bearing?

mine knocked - but then i think the other one was on its way out too

i replaced the other one and both hubs at the same time

then this happened within 500yards of leaving my driveway :(

also, word on the street is that the tripod joints dont come off  new driveshaft time?

Cheaper to buy a new shaft tbh, you can get them from ECP for circa £40 afaik I had to change mine couple weeks back as the joint failed.
