Has anyone run one of these other than 2live and if so what was the verdict? I know 2live tested one but as he had an R19 mount as well I'd rather get the opinion of someone who had tried it without the extra mount.
No one mate. If there are any problems then i will soon sort them out.
You can be our first non r19 mount tester :winkey:

One for me on monday!
Ill have one fella, let me know the exact amount.
just to explain somethng. i have tried the dog bone with n without the r19 mount
altho i prefer to run with the r19 mount on the car its now fitted to, 0051, and it performed faultlessly at Spa, has been hammered a lot both wih and witout r19 mount. and is holding up very well.

Ok, I'll have a look at the bank account tomorrow when I get paid and may take one. I pressume these are being done in the same way as the initial ones by pressing the old bushes out and then putting these in?
yes, the old bushes need pressing out - new ones can be fitted by hand.
i want one! been waiting ages!

Got mine safely yesterday - cheers Northy. Anyone got any tips on fitment? I got the big bush in fine but the small one keeps popping out. Do you put in one side first, then the metal sleeve, then the other side? Or put in both bushes and then try and push the sleeve all the way through both of them?
i would say put them both in then slide the bush through. Pm 2live as he has fitted on before.
Will let you know how i do it when my Renault dogbone frame arrives from mr browm

Can someone please measure the distance between the sides of the small end of the dogbone mount and/or tell me the part number that is on it. I think I have found the cause of my fitting problems - the small end of my dogbone seems to be 23mm wide but the two halves of the bush that is supposed to go in there measure 27mm, the extra 4mm being why I can't push them both in properly on both sides at once?
is this any use as a guide mate ? i will get the part number tomorrow.

Yes, I saw that pic but the numbers aren't too clear. I can see that my number definitely looks to be different. Mine has 7700 805 120 cast on it.

thats the same part number as mine and i had a quick look, the bush measures 25mm and the gap in the dogbone is pretty much 25mm too, not pressed it out yet, but will do sometime this week at work!

Cheers Richy, that's a good start - please let me know how you get on. I can believe that I have measured the dogbone incorrect by a mm or two but I still feel that my bushes have too much 'meat' on them for my dogone.
the part number i have for the dogbone is 7700 849 715 although this number could be what your part number supercedes to

i dropped into my local garage and asked him to attempt to fit...
said there might be a problem, and to bail out if so.
no problems whatsoever. (standard willy 3).
gearstick sits firmly with no forward motion.
many thanks to northy for sorting this.
Mmm i see your problem. When the dogbone is fitted to the car does it wobble from side to side ?
it does look differant to mine though.

Williams and valver dogbones are the same - did you find out your part number ?

Mmm i see your problem. When the dogbone is fitted to the car does it wobble from side to side ?
Don't have anything to fit it to at the moment. The F7R is away being worked on and there is no subframe in the car either, so not a lot to test it with! However, due to the extra material inside the bush I can't get them both into the dogbone at the same time anyway, so if I then bolted that to the car only one side of the bush would be in place, which I'm sure would cause problems.

Yes, it does look visually different to yours. I believe the part number might be the number I found stamped on it given above, which was 7700 805 120? I wonder whether all valver/Williams dogbones are the same, or whether some valver ones are different?
i will get the part number of 0171's tonight mate

right ive had a look on dialogys and the part number you have comes up as a rsi dogbone mount which seems to be different to a willy/valver one , the part number for a williams/valver dogbone is 77 00 849 715

Great, maybe the mystery of the tricky fitment is solved then. Thanks for looking that up for me Jay.
I've had the car since nearly new though (owned it nearly 12 years now) so am pretty sure it was original fitment. They must have started using RSi bones on the later model Clios? Or just run out of the proper part in the factory one day and used the RSi dogbone instead?
Richy - you said that you had the same part number as me. Is yours a Willy/valver too and do you think that dogbone was original fitment?
AndyFielder
14-11-2007, 12:43
chaps cant you just cut the rubber down to make it sit right?
Andy
if its too narrow then it wont be doing its job propally mate. He needs a valver williams one.

that was what i took off my williams, just removed the one off my 16v and that part number looks like 77 00 849 715 aswell, so i wander if it had been replaced at some point on the williams and i didnt realise!

Yep, I think I'll have to go that route. Although I still think I have a 'valver one', as that one must have been original fitment. But yes, I just need to get hold of one with the part number 77 00 849 715 by the sounds of it. Anyone got one going spare from their valver/Williams - preferably with worn out bushes in it?!?

the one above is from GSF i think... i have 2 here one RSI and one Valver.
Both look exactly the same.
But have different Part numbers:

sorry about the quality of the pic!

ok
the one on the left is off my williams and the part number is 77 00 805 120
the one on the right is off my 16v and the part number is 77 00 849 715
both are identical in measurements, just sat and checked with a rule!! and the bushes fit perfectly in, will be cleaning up and painting it before fitment!

Cheers Richy. So I've got the same part number as on yours but it looks different and is a different size/measurements and so the bushes won't fit it. Don't you just love French cars??!?! Think I'll have to just get another dogbone and check the pics before I buy to make sure it is like your ones and not like mine (it appears that it is not enough to go on the part number alone).
that is strange, unless they did update them at some point but obviously kept the part number same! think the best thing is to buy another then!
will any more of these be made :?:
just found the other posts

Quick question about these, when you are putting the smaller end in the bushes for either side are slightly different widths. What side does the larger one go on as I forgot to look before getting the old ones pressed out? When you look at the casting itself of the mount one side is thicker than the other - does the thicker part of the bush go on the same or opposite side as the thicker side of the mount itself?
Don't know if that makes any sense but hopefully someone can understand, lol.
when you offer the mount up to the car, you can see which way it goes as the gearbox fitment gap is offset, tbh its not hard to fit/remove the bushe from the mount so worth just offering it up before putting the smaller bush set in!

Just incase anyone is interested I got round to fitting the new engine mount with these bushes today and I have to say its a massive improvement!! It may just be that my old one was goosed but it now feels a lot better and I hardly have any movement at all of the gear lever.
