Is a lovely car. I followed it from the texaco garage to FCS. Exhaust was kicking out quite a bit of crap though. Was only fuel ,nothing sinister but it was quite a bit. Like my old xr31 used to do on start up

Forged pistons make alot of smoke.

04-06-2005, 19:12
Is it really pushing that sort of power? Impressive. And unlike other tuning companys efforts its still going strong. :D

Yeah, Genuine figures from Nick Hill.
Rebuilt using forged internals.
Not cheap.

Mat.

I went in theis car when Nick was mapping the fuel, and it was very fast with zero miles on the clock. Its had more work since then

Dancliovalver
04-06-2005, 23:06

Hope you guys don't mind me posting pics...

Dan's new 1.8 16v Williams look-a-like. Quick, looks mint too, kicked out a bit of stuff thou right into my face!

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/Steviep_172/dans_willy_lookalike.jpg

On the left, a standard Williams 2 that is VERY QUICK for a standard Willy, both giving it beans on a straight (private test track of course) and when I was in front he'd creep up on me, when he was in front I was *just* creeping up on him, considering my full-fat Mark 2 172 has got a silenced de-cat & an ITG panel filter its one very very quick Williams. Its making me panic to get my 182 manifold & ITG Maxogen kit on now! Tis very mint & clean too!

On the right, Robbie's William's (no pun intended!) which has had the said Nick Hill work carried out on it, he took us for a drive today and it doesn't feel quick, but you gotta look at the needle and realise that 0-60 is sub 6 seconds and it doesn't take long to get to 140mph (again on a private test track). Its SO loud and the relocated air filter just sounds like a turbo spooling up! Amazing car!!! (Nice guy too!)

Very nice! Good to see someone going the full hog with bottom end work. 200bhp from standrad inlet though, didn't think that was possible, i could be wrong though. Battle of the big power N/A Clio's at York on sunday? Would be a good laugh Robbie!

KingStromba
16-06-2005, 21:36
Dont think the car was designed to put out max power. Was designed for good midrange drivability, more of a fast road car than a 1/4 mile monster.

Dancliovalver
16-06-2005, 22:04
hey stroma where bouts from the midlands are ya mate?

AH. but then its fun going up against a car that is more powerful. I think I'm going to try my hand at this 1/4 miling malarky next month and see how I get on against 2Lives and Cleans cars.

Mines only around 165-170bhp.

170 brake is loads people tend to forget about torq when it counts for so much

KingStromba

Mines dead on 150 bhp. Nice and standard. It was slightly faster, but i had it slowed to make it as Renault intended. :D

lol.....how would u know??.u never take it past 3500 rpm lol

KingStromba

3500 is a good work out for my car. Besides i think i may have gearbox issues, so i dont want to stress it anymore than i have too until i have a replacement box in.
