WOW pricey!

When i fitted a chip to my RSi i did it all my self.. its only desoldering 28pins, fitting the eprom and soldering 28pins back in?

And my soldering skills arnt the best!

Personally i cant see anybody paying between £30 - £50 for this?

I ****ing would - its a nightmare trying to get this done! I'd rather pay and that be the end of it!

I'd want my old chip reusable though so I could just swap between them.

As above, good price for what he is offering, you try getting anyone to do it, and with how rare williams ECU's are i wouldn't risk doing it to mine myself

Well my soldering skills are! :P I'm a qualified Electronics test technician. So I actually know what I'm doing.

Anyway, personal choice. we'll see how it goes

Unfortunately, not. I'd test them on mine, but mine's turbocharged with big injectors. It runs horrible on N/A maps!

i also endorse kj16v. by all means attempt it urself folks, but theres a good chance ud fluff it. i dont mind paying £30 for a guy whos done it many times to do it properly. small price for decent gain. huge price to pay if u mess it up. go with kj16v folks. he also returns ur ecu quickly.top bloke and good service

I can also vouch for kj16v's services, he installed my gunnerchip very professionaly in a short time for a fair price. Anybody that thinks its expensive is the sort of person who only shops in LiDLE or ALDI!

I think there's a few of those on this forum......

I'm thinking of sending my ECU to you from Croatia.
What's the best chip performance wise for williams with std engine, intake and exhaust? How much for that piece of kit?

As above KJ, what's the best chip to use in your opinion?

kj16v
03-10-2011, 13:35
Hi.

For the best results by far, it's got to be a live-map and "TB mod" from myself (see my live mapping ad for details). This will ensure you get the maximum performance available from your Clio.

Of course, if you live abroad then a live-map isn't an option! However, I can supply my own chip for £50 +p&p

It's based on a live-map I did for a stock Williams recently It made a genuine +7 bhp and +4 lbs-ft. Plus a realistic rev limiter.

Speaking of rev-limits, I just had a look on Ebay to compare prices of available chips. I found one going for £90 with an 8000 rpm limiter   Talk about a time bomb...
