im wandering what i can do? i took my williams manifold off my car and as i was taking the manifold of the down pipe the thread snapped on one of the bolts on the manifold. how can i repair it? help much appreciated!

one of my downpipe studs snapped, i had to drill it out in the end and use a bolt from halfords, the other wisde i used some heat and undwound the stud and again used a new bolt

you can buy new stud bolts from renault, circa 5quid a piece special order, or you can buy some high tensile threaded bar and simply pop it in place.

However, be warned, it can be a right biatch getting the old one out. if you can, get a machine shop to drill the old one out first and retap it. You may be lucky and be able to get it out with some heat, but i wasnt so lucky lol...

while its off check for cracks in the middle cross section, 99% go there at somepoint, had mine welded up and it made a huge difference to the car.

not a big job, just need someone with the right tools.
