on gearchange usually, accompanied with a deep whine when you accelerate in any gear between around 2k and 3k rpm

release bearing?

Release bearing won't cause it to wine on acceleration, just keep driving it till it goes bang, oh and start looking for a replacement box lol

no point as they won,t guarantee it above 250bhp lot of money for a box thats as likely to blow up. need an ex works hewland box.

Mine whines under acceleration from time to time, as coops said aswell between 2-3k. It's not affected by how hard you accelerate either it still whines. It never crossed my mind it could be the gearbox? :? Should i be worried then?
