Took my car in today for it's MOT having done all the usual checks in advance. I had noticed a bit of fraying on the Goodridge braided hoses at the front where they attach to the inner wing but thought nothing of it.
The tester also noticed it and said it would be just advised. Car was sailing through the test until it came to the brake efficiency test when bang went the hose on the passenger side  Total brake failure  and to cap that off when he decided to check the handbrake the cable snapped.
Only the night before I had been blasting along the A682 between Barrowford and Gisburn, supposedly the most dangerous road in England.
Someone up there must have been looking out for me :D

It's better you have it happen during a MOT rather than braking before a 90 degree corner

All sorted now but with standard flexible pipes. The Goodridge hoses always seemed a little to short and would be at full extension on full lock but the new hoses are just the same and they are genuine Willy parts. Is this normal?
