I beleive the Japs made a 180 SX (Jap version of the S13 Silvia; 200 sx in this country) with a 2litre turbo, as opposed to the 1.8 ltr turbo on the 200 sx.

Have you ever imported one / know anything about them?

Rob - I'll ask James - who as you know is fanatical about Jap motors and the Nissan in particular

Nissan made the greatest engine ever produced along with the greatest car in the R32 onwards... one day... one day...

right spoke to James- the 180 was the original 200 with the SR20DET ehgine but was only made for the Jap market - the UK 200 has the CA180. Incredibly rare to find the SR20DET engine in this country - have more chance finding a mint willy with 10 miles on the clock!!! you could transplant an engine from the S14 which is virtually identical [apart from possibly engine management ] not a major job and would give the closest approximation of the original.the SR20 has a bigger turbo than the CA180 not surprisingly- right think that is what James told me - you could post on the 200 owners club but again highly uinlikely to get hold of one -like goldust.

Rob don't tell me your thinking of going Japanese!!! [don't blame you - I have a hankering myself- you would find an allay in James and he could certainly help you with the mechanics- he has basically rebuilt his 200 -hoping for 300+bhp ]

We have never imported one of these, in fact never even had an enquiry about one until now.

But if you think they are quick, just try an early Evo with nothing more than a decent exhaust on.

maybe you're thinking of going drifting :D you can't do better than the 200 for that -= I'd pay good money to see you drift your way round a circuit :!: :!:

:D even more reason for you to come to the next EA meet - You can talk to James if your a 200 fan - he has the 'red wily' [s13]that came to hte Ipswich meet  [go to fatboys link in your newbie post]

But this is the S14 Silvia engine, in the S13 Silvia

S13 Silvia - 177 BHP - 1.8
S14 Silvia - 197 BHP - 2.0

In Japan it was called a 180 sx. Its a 200 Sx (s13 Silvia) with a S14 engine

I never said they were good. I was just interested in this particular car. As i had driven one and found it to be way faster than a 200 sx, but at the time did not realise that it was a 2.0 turbo instead of a 1.8 turbo

I knew of a 200SX with an RB26DETT engine from a R34 VSpec Skyline in it.....sadly got written off being transported from its first show. Was and awesome creation.
