View Full Version : Gearbox mount, how to strengthen?

Hi chaps, basically the 3 bolts that go through the triangular bit to the gearbox, 1 of the bolts has snapped in the box and the other has a crappy thread! Is it possible to helicoil this or get something to strengthen it?

Same happened to me...

You can helicoil it, but you can't really do it in situ (my ABS was in the way)

to strengthen, get the willy gearbox strap! :D and R19 4th mount

how much for the strap does it make much difference over the one that only goes to the back of the box?
still after a r19 mount aswell really think the car could do with it.
