Mick the guy who runs RSC (and owner of an ex 19 16v BTCC car) is building my new lump.
Bought as a runner with 142k on it from a megane coupe. We decided that it was ready for a rebuilt, as you can see it was gettin ready:

decided to use the megane head, had a complete rebuild, with new valves, stem seals etc. all decoked and put through the parts cleaner, now just needs machining to fit the 16v dizzy and the 16v cams should fit, which are slightly wilder than the megane ones apparently.

Put back together loosely for now, while it was in bits the block was painted up with hammerite metallic black, hammered finish, looks fookin ace in the flesh.

Of course new bearings and rings being fitted too next week, Micks been polishing the pistons up to a super shine too :D

Ive been standing and watchin, and helping where I can, hes a fookin renault genius I tell ya!

Looks like everythings been covered!

I like the look of the megane engines in a clio - they look more refreshing to me :D

yeh im hopin the cam cover will fit, cos will look that bit different.

we're using the megane inlet manifold too with a converter for the clio throttle body. Being custom made :D, With the ports being a different shape on the megane head the inlet would have been miss-matched to the head.
