Whats the best thing to use to clean the manifold before putting heat wrap on??

I've sandblasted mine, then a coat of VHT paint to prevent rusting before covering with the exhaust wrap.

Thats keen, sandblasting as well, i just thought something like an emry cloth and some cleaner of some sort, wasn't sure though.

i agree with legend lunner,but i tested a wire brush and sander pad and it seems to come up quite nice. maybe some white spirit to finish? cheap but long job

I agree too, but just thought it would be easier to wrap the wrap if it was clean and smooth as opposed to rough and filthy??
