Sorry to hear that but can't say i expected otherwise.

Why don't you just source replacement parts on here and pay a bodyshop for anything you can't do?

Even if the used parts aren't great thats better than having a mashed written off car and ending up using buses.

Keep it running matey! its 013 after all!

Refuse to accept their terms and state its worth repairing or at the very least that its worth 3-4k and that your saving them a lot of money by getting it back on the road.

If i wrote mine off i would buy it back and scrap it.

£1800 payout less insurance valuation of parts which is most likley to be circa £300 add reciepts for all the stuff you can sell .... say £1500 and you've got top dollar for a willy.

I think the most one would go for now is £3,000 of which it would have to be very low miler and super condition, fsh etc.

I wouldn't even claim tbh, either fix it up myself or break it myself, not worth loosing the no claims and having a claim against you

He hit something, so not claiming is not an option as no claims would be lost anyhow.

In my case making a claim would make very little difference to my policy as i have protected my no claims. Having a crash only ups your premium significantly when you are younger anyway. My fiancee crashed her car yesterday and granted its only ig 5, in the process losing 2 yrs no claims but her policy has only gone up £180.

We did an online quote with the relevant details and the variance between one crash and 1 yrs no claims and 4 ncb and no crashes was £180 as stated.

No doubt that on a car in a higher ig the proportionate increase will be alot heavier but as long as your ncb's are protected you will be ok.

but never go by an online quote! best to ring up and speak to the ins company and you can normally get more off.
