difficult one. sounds like filter though mate. common cause of oil loss on most cars. Just clean up as best u can (maybe even jetwash) - and check sump plug and oil filter. My guess would be filter though.

looks like its coming from the very top of the oil filter, if i start the car it blows from there with pressure.

prob needs to build the oil back up into the tappets, plus depending on which oil you used some makes make the tappets rattle more ie magnatec

Odd one i run 5w40, esp now winter is coming

What you will find tho is a 5w40 is same thickness as a 15w40 at 100 degc, so it will be tappety when warm

5w = working temp from cold
40 = thickness

so a 5w40 is the same thickness as 10w40 15w40 ect when warm but will be thinner when cold and easlier to move about the engine, 0w40 will run from colder.

where as say a 10w50 is thicker at temp then a 10w40

ect..
