nice idea getting the rear wings i think! least they wouldn't rust! and thats more than you'd get buying just the arches.

Daz.

Would a body shop be able to graft those onto the original shell though?

I'll not lie if its possible I'll have those straight away!

would it basically be rip the old metal ones off, bond the fibreglass ones on then filler to smooth them in? mite get hold of a set ready for when mine rust away in a few years!

gonna take a while get the pennies together for the rest of the panels!

whats the legalities on the doors aswell? need to run a cage or what?

MAXIBOY
22-09-2007, 22:35
not sure but cage would be a good idea.

Daz.
22-09-2007, 22:59
Would't fancy running the doors without a cagea at all!

Whats the score with weights of metal arches vs those? wouldn't unbalance the car would it?

Lunner

Just tweek the front/rear ride height to compensate, if you need to

FATBOY

i went to a bodyshop yesterday. got quoted £250 for my bonnet and £600 for both (one arch is cut out and new arch in) arches... sound right????

FATBOY
23-09-2007, 14:13
do these panels come unpainted? and just primed?

MAXIBOY
23-09-2007, 14:18
unpainted i believe.

I'd be interested to know the weight difference panel for panel on these - I can't really see it being mega? after all its only the outer skin?

Those rear wings are on the list seeing as ULFs are starting to rust again.

Awesome find bud.

How will these fibreglass arches compare to the originals?

MAXIBOY
23-09-2007, 22:55
there maxi kit was spot on.

so they should be good

summeh
24-09-2007, 00:46
wonder how weak rear arches would make the car though? I mean from door dents etc would it just crack, or would it hold up/pop back better than metal panels?

also in a bad accident, what'd happen?

MAXIBOY
24-09-2007, 01:01
not sure on a road car but for a race car they would be great.

or a caged road car.

did have my kit reinforced by a mate that works in kevlar though.

I spoke to the bodyshop I know, he said they can do, but they would rather do it properly, i.e new rear quarters, as most fibreglass he has seen is shit, not saying these are but ones he has delt with before were.

25-09-2007, 14:16
anyone got any ideas on the doors?

how would you mount them etc?

Andy

MAXIBOY
25-09-2007, 17:30
not sure might have mounting on them.

fibre glass panels can be fine. its only just less than carbon fibre panels that every one wants. looks ok if you body shop is ok. maybe best to use the body shop that specialise in tvr repairs as these are all glass fibre.

summeh

did anyone ever buy any of these? if so what are they like?

summeh

price of the bonnet (5kg) has gone up to 230quid on that site, so cheaper and better to get the ktec one 200quid (3.75kg)
