motorway cruising at 70 then a slight misfire feeling preceeded total transmission failure - does any one know what this is caused by?
thanks
Rob

oh... my friends did this exact thing yesterday.
driving and between 2000-4000rpm its was misfiring, i checked under the bonnet and the iscv hose was not connected to the filter so i said it maybe shitty give it a good clear out. so he proceeded to leave tyre marks all up the road. but it cleared the misfiring.
then all of a sudden when parking up it starts to grind in all gears with a very strong smell of gearbox oil and leak, so pressume it has split the box as the new clutch has only done 500 miles.
sorry to high jack the thread.
can you select the gears but just have no drive??

Turn engine on and put it in 1st gear.
Does the speedo go up when you rev it? But no drive?
That will most likely be a popped ciclip, which can be bought for a few quid from renault.
Replaced by removing passenge side driveshaft and getting in through there.
