how much were the bits?

the header tank was £24 delivered "ebay" "very well packaged"

the rocker cover was £31 delivered "ebay"

and the inlet manifold was £15 from Matbrown on the forum.

should tidy the engine bay up a treat i think, i'm going to have a go at polishing my old one up on the buffer when the new one is fitted.

next up is a full service/ fluid drop/change.

Nice! It's amazing what the Expansion bottle, rocker cover and inlet do to the engine bay. Also worth getting a new exhaust manifold heatsheild, new ones just make the bay look brand new! 8)

Well i've just had the worst hour or so of oil and sweat arguments with the clio! and it all turned out to be the wong oil! went from 5w to a thicker semi sythetic and its running like a kitten purrrrrrring!!!!!!!

all i have to do now is sort out the arches and the rotten sill and touch wood all should be ok.

fault list now stands at

- drivers side electric mirror dont work.
- rotten drivers side sill.
- arches have started to go.
- steering columb has a lil bit of play and squeeks.
- tracking is out a lil bit.
- oil level guage stops working after a minute or so.

things to do are as follows

- finish engine bay and steam clean.
- fit new glovebox cover.
- fit new centre console after removing crook lock.
- re carpet the boot.
- sort rust on the botom of the doors.
- try and track down previous service history as previous owner lost it!!!
- fit new headlight bulbs.
- sort split cv boot on passenger side.
- get cam belt changed.
- sell it!!!!!!!!!

oil level gauge stops working after a minute or so.

they all do that mate so cross it off your list. when you start it it shows the oil level for a few minutes then goes off.
