Does anyone know if you can get Bluetooth head units? The idea is to stream internet radio through my phone and onto the HU using a bluetooth connection. Could use it for ipod etc those kind of devices as well.

yes! kenwood make them compatible! you have to have an input on the headunit and kenwood make a bluetooth adaptor(its for handsfree so not sure about streaming music!) you should try my way mate and get a usb headunit and run a usb powered external harddrive for your music.

best bet is to mail them at the site below

cant stream live internet radio off a hard drive mate

basically I want to use bluetooth as the input medium, rather than running a 3.5mm jack from the phone to head unit aux in.

ive got a pioneer one thats not bluetooth, but fully ipod compatible.
12v connection to ipod and control is a jog wheel type event.
really impressed with it.

did want bluetooth, but am more than happy with full ipod control.

worth considering imo.

just reading the description:

"The DEH-P6900IB is compatible with Bluetooth, adding the optional CD-BTB200 adapter means you can make hands-free calls – as well as stream audio - without the wires or headsets that you would normally need."

stream audio, thats what i need :D

I've got a pioneer now which was the first unit out to allow mp3's off a data cd, but it lags about 5-10 seconds at the start of each track, buffering i guess... which is pretty shit. guess you don't get that any more.

in any case just want a head unit that will let me stream internet radio... wahoo digitally imported in my car here we come

159 was the cheapest price i saw. not sure how much the additional unit is, or wether it is better to go for a pioneer "bt" unit.

only downside is the scroll time for my hundreds of albums, but you can speed things up with better use of playlists.

i usually stick random play on and then exercise the remote control finger till dr random strikes gold.
