Come on guys!

It certainly aint hanging round is it!?

And its diesel

And it probably weighs about 4/5 extra people than a 16v.

Give it some credit!

Im not talking about all you turbo'ed/ITB'd boys! Just us average 16v owners, i wouldnt think we'd put it to shame from the traffic lights!

Don't complain about it! Progress is goooooood. :D

They do a Renaultsport version of a diesel already, Daz. So you can look pretty whilst going pretty fast and saving a pretty penny at the same time.

62mpg! Blimey.

This is what I was saying before about the VW Passat and modern saloons. You sometimes have a hard time whipping them in a 90's hot hatch!

Trouble with a lot of newer cars is they are like mobile barges. They have good acceleration, but in the corners they really are bad. This is the area that really has been neglected. Suspension really needs some investment for future cars.

That will be down to their extra weight, mainly, and also trying to make the cars safer and more forgiving, rather than anything to do with suspension design. In fact, suspension design has improved considerably, considering how well modern cars handle despite the extra weight they have to carry around. I find a lot of new cars handle pretty tidily. Admittedly it will be no 16v/Williams, but the new Passat is actually quite competent around corners. :)
