gearbox question???

my gearbox has just gone in my valver. so in need of new on .
i think the 16v box is jc3.
is it worth thinking about putting a willy box in it???
what other boxes fit the clio 16v. iv herd the 1.9D box fits the valver???
whats best for proformance.

or should i just find a 1.8 16v box.

valver box is jb3, williams is jc5. any mk1 gearbox will fit, except the auto :wink: but will have different ratios

Has anyone ever fitted different gearboxes out of different cars? 1.2 clio? R5 turbo? Any improvements?

recently fitted a 1.4 box my mates valver. 1st and 2nd were sameish 3 rd seemed slow. 5th @ 4 k was around 100 mph
