Ok, looks like the time has finally come after this morning getting stuck in first gear at traffic lights and stalled out. The pedal was stuck to the floor (did not pop back up) after it slipped on the self adjuster. Thought the cable was stuffed, but pulled pedal up with my hand and it worked again.
Really not looking forward to changing it all again, especially as I can't remove my drivers seat (I seem to remember a bolt is seized or keeps turning).
Driving me nuts this whole cable clutch thing. I'd rather have it as ocassional manual adjustment than auto adjustment that keeps failing every 3-6 months.
