Got a set plus springs sat in my 'motorsport' shed and they are surplus to requirements but haven't got a clue what they are worth :? sent a mail to previous owner to try and find out the spec of them but as a ball aprk what are they worth ???

Might just stick them on eBay as stuff normally does what it's worth if you know what I mean :?

Some scuffing of paint but no leaks or damge to either springs, casings or mounts. Theses things must be popular as I've had four PM's this morning already asking for first dibs :?

Where are the original spring plates? There should be two aluminium spring plates to hold the bilstien springs.

These are also not the correct springs for the struts, do you have the originals?

As you can see clearly, the springs are sitting on the spring adjustors at the bottom, and are not housed properly on the smaller (non original) spring plates at the top. The original springs would fit perfectly into two specially made spring plates about 4.5 inched in diameter (same diameter as the spring coils).

Have you put these together yourself and forgot to put the other bits on or are they genuinly missing the spring plates and original springs? Have these been damaged in the past a nd repaired with alternative bits as the original bits are no longer available?

What you see is what you get mate, I got them as part of a spares package from the cars previous owner and he said they are pucker.

Thanks for your input :?

Well spotted Mick
I must admit I missed them. It wont be a big job to get some turnerd up out of Aircraft spec ally ~~ I think the inner diameter of the springs,by the looks of them are 2.25".
I have the normal sized springs and platforms on my rally car.
Whatever it brings ~~ the whole package looks like a good deal at the price "Slippy" quoted earlier.
Cost me best part of a "onener (£100)",to get mine overhauled/replated legs etc.

Best thing you can do to re-assure the buyer is:

-Disassemble the top mounts and remove the spring
-Undo the bolt on the bottom
-turn the screw on the bottom to release the insert
-Now you can check the damper seal on the bottom of the insert and see if it is leaking
-Take the insert and roll it on a very flat surface. If its bent it will not roll evenly.

If everything is fine reassembly is the reversal. Until youve taken them apart you cannot state that the seals are in good order (the seal on the top isnt the damper seal, but a dirst seal for the casing, The damper insert sits upside down in the casing.

Hi, just been looking at your eBay add, and the Williams Bilstein suspension will not fit a 16v and vice versa.

The casing of the dampers on the two cars is different (on account of the williams running wider track, and as a result the F7p version of the suspension would not fit on a williams.

Casing for williams part number: 7711126556
Casing for 16S part number: 7711126022

You should really find out the part number to check if this is for the 16v or williams. The inserts will be the same between the two cars, and the rears are the same also.

Spoke to the previous owner and your correct they are in fact for a 16v and are now sold to a guy with a 16v
