is anyone using 4 pins to hold the bonnet down?

all the pics i can find show only 2 being used

any problems that could arise from doing this?

depends on bonnet really. steel bonnet hinged only needs two.

steel bonnet removable fibreglass or carbon four pins

so four pins on a bonnet without using hinges is ok?

fatboy - is that people using just two pins and nothing else? or using 4 pins?

basically i want to be able to remove the bonnet without unscrewing anything, plus one of the bonnet hinge bolts has snapped so i dont trust undoing/tightening them over and over

I used two pins at the front and used the renault catch at the back

Standard bonnet

yeh i thought about using four pins and leaving the standard catch there as a bit of safety

sad day when youve got to padlock your bonnet! :(

four pins it is then, ordered them from rallynuts along with some other goodies for the valver

if you see a bonnet flying off on track, that'll be me

the carbon ones fly off when not pinned.

loads of rally cars and race cars use them you be fine as long as you put the pins in.

You can get locking pins (locking "Aerocatch" i think), so don't need a daft padlock. At the end of the day if someone wants to steal something that badly, they are gonna get it. (Although they may get caught). Don't use a padlock, it just looks naff and shouts "i've got something worth protecting".
