View Full Version : Wilwood 4 Pots - Group Buy Oct/Nov '07...
OK, I'm starting a new job next week, so no more brake kits for a while, but I'm hoping by Oct / Nov I'll be able to do another run if anyones interested???
As last time I will need minimum 5 people and 100 deposits if it goes ahead....
Will also be doing 300mm kits using the Superlite calipers and 2pc Disks with alloy bells..
cheers
Tony.
Woo!
If its going to be later oct/nov then I'll be ok with that I think!
As late as possible mind - might get the missus to sort me out an early christmas present
^^^ as above - later would be betterfor me too!
What size wheels would you need to fit 300mm discs behind?
fit behind 15" wheels with 1mm clearance....

Im V. interested in this. Will probably invest here.
fit behind 15" wheels with 1mm clearance....
So basically they'll look badass behind willy wheels
could you sort out brackets for a different car mate? ie a mk3 ibiza cupra? :D
yes I can do other cars.... but I would need the car, plus its time for me to measure, design and draw up the bracket...
also would need a minimum order of say 5 to make it worth while...
how about supply without a set of brackets?
in that case i'm interested then in the 300mm kit. let me know more details when you have them mate

il start saving now!!
nooo everyones gonna have the big brake set up i have now - thought that's why you bought the kit off gunner tony
would the billet dynalites/forged dynalites be able to run 300mm discs or are the calipers too big? im running 285mm disc with billett dynalites and room looks tight  il get a pic up tomorrow
As before tony, let me know on the kit ;)
could be intrested keep us posted 8)
I don't care what the setup is as long as it fits behind a willy wheel!
Hi mate,
Will defo have one of these, maybe the 300mm one if the price is right.
Cheers
Dan
few pics of my wilwood billet dynalites with 285mm discs, would only want the 300mm as its 2 piece so alot light than the 285's, room looks tight tho so im not sure if they would fit, what you reckon tony?

Very unlikely. If your running 285mm discs now, then you'd need to be able to move the caliper out by another 6.75mm (extra 13.5mm diameter /2) not including clearance, so the top of the pads lay flush with the outside edge of the disc.
Is there more than 6.75mm available between the caliper and rim? The calipers are capable of going on 300mm discs, but I don't think there is the space under those rims.
The superlites are narrower, hence why you can fit bigger discs on um under standard 15" rims.
You could drop down to 279.4mm two piece bells and rotors?
everyone better start saving now!!
Might stick with the 285's then looking at those pics!
So the kits that I will be doing are...
1. Dynalites, std discs 259mm
2. Dynalites, 172 discs 280mm
3. Superlites, 2pcs discs 300mm
Do a ballpark figure of prices Tony?
The 300mm is tempting but not at ktec region prices...
So the kits that I will be doing are...
1. Dynalites, std discs 259mm = 330
2. Dynalites, 17poo discs 280mm = 350
3. Superlites, 2pcs discs 300mm = 500 ish
I've not look into the superlite kit, but will be around 500-550 ish... I think..
let me know a superlite price, kit with no calipers ta :D
Quick question - the std disc ones just drop on with no problems
The bigger ones with the 172 discs - do they come with the discs or do you have to get them? also you don't need anything else do you to swap them over? I'm assuming its just bolt the discs on and mount the new calipers, lines etc...
with the 172 disc kit, you supply the discs...
its the same kit, just with different mounting brackets...
Ahh fook it I'll just stick with the standard setup - my discs are very new anyway 8)

Nooo the std size discs foo!
I'm deffo having me some wilwood mofos
Infact I want the first set come oct/nov time
good good! lol
just what you wrote sounds like you just wanted std brakes :?
Yeh maybe I should have std discs instead
Might be a silly question, but does each kit have a different bracket for the caliper? 'coz the caliper will have to sit further out with each kit???
yeah it will be a different bracket with each size kit, if anyone wants to run 285mm disc then i can supply tony with the brackets to get copied. Hi- spec sell the correct 285mm disc for my kit and disc prices are plain pair, £106 or grooved/dilled and grooved/drilled discs are £160
i thought those superlites were running 198.5mm as opposed to 300 as the 300s are just a little 2 big
i think rallydesign use to do the 300mm superlite kit, there was about £600 back in 2005, i think they stopped doing them as no-one bought them lol
daz the std size kit is more then capable, ive ran mine for over 2.5 year now without any problems, although the thought of having 300mm discs hiding away behind the wheels is good! :D
I think we should rename this Nov/Dec Group buy
Seen as my tax runs out at the end of this month lol - there goes my deposit
I'll keep it up and running mate, maybe earlier xmas present from the misses...
BUMP, When I get 5 names I'll start this rolling again.....
std discs or 280mm disc, same calipers as before....
I'm not going to do the 300mm kits...
cheers
Tony.
I'm using the money from this to get my arches done next week now - I couldn't really afford not to - next time though!

And they go straight on?

Pretty much. You need to grind a tiny bit off the hub carrier to allow the mounting bracket to sit flush. Couple of mm is all. Standard discs can be retained. It's a great kit.

And when you order pads, do you just buy standard size clio ones?

No they need to be wilwood pads.
