Been thinking lately about what engine im going to use in my valver, I had my heart set on a F7R, but ive always had a soft spot for the R5 engine. I bought an engine for £200 a few years back when I had my orange mk1 but ended up scrapping the car come MOT time and ended up throwing the engine in the skip after being on eaby for 3 weeks and no one bid. wish id kept it now!

Im seriously concidering buying another one and going turbo. never really been a turbo person, but the C1J is lighter than an F7R, has more scope for bigger power, its simple technology, and has alot of low down punch.
Now i wouldnt keep the engine standard and had read up on tuning them years ago, so know what works well. In the long run it would cost more to tune this to a reliable 200bhp than it would an F7R.
I remember BRUN's GTT clio from years ago, and that was awsome.

Im not sure what to do, Ive really gone mad with the weight loss side of things and have already removed everything I dont need off car, and a lighter yet still powerful engine makes sense.

have a search for ashclio gtt's clio gtt, me and ash built it to be a monster, was 200bhp and 800 KG absolute screamer on the road, get on RTOC and you can make 200 bhp relatively cheaply

if the car is going to be used as a track car i'd stick with an F7R i've got about 4 mates who own 5's and they do play up a lot i dont care what anyone says, and would only want to be running small power for track use
