About an hour and a half into the RS Oulton park day my gearbox decided to stick in 2nd gear and wouldn't come out, also its crunching in 2nd and 3rd like a bastard, so needs a rebuild.

Whats the best way to remove the gearbox? Can it be taken off/out without the subframe being dropped off?

when mine blew up a few weeks back i took the engine out to do it, took me and bass direct a day, started sunday morning finished sunday night. i was gonna take the subframe off and do it that way but after speaking to nick hill he advised to take the whole thing out and do it on the floor.

Well I've just replaced the subframe so everything is unceased and I am familiar with it, so will do it the subframe way, as I know I can have the subframe on/off in no time at all.

Mine went a couple of weeks ago too,

To get it out, i just disconnect most of the wiring, then took passenger half-shaft, popped the pin on the drivers half shaft, undid the gearbox bolts, dropped sub-frame, and lifted out from the top...

Oh bonnet of aswell.. 4 hours.
