Mongoose exhaust banging like a prozzie!

Guys,

I think its common issue with mongoose exhausts but mine bangs like ****!

Its starting to really annoy me!

Its really rattly, i presume its banging on my rear beam? Do people usually cushion it with something?

Whats the best way to sort it?

Try replacing the mounts and get it refitted.

I had the exact same problem, tried refitting it loads of times, but nothing would stop it banging!

In the end i went for a Magnex, no more banging, better fit and quieter than the Mongoose :wink:

got a mongoose on group a mounts had it tweaked but fits perfect

i had this problem on my old r5, i just wedged a piece of rubber in there. sorted it right out

Cheers for replies guys, shall investigate over this long weekend when I attempt to fit my renault 19 leather interior! Where im sure there will be plenty of swearing!

Ive not actually had a look at it yet.

It sounds as though its banging on the rear beam, that right?

It also rattles when the handbrake is on, possibly the cable is rubbing on the sections somewhere?

It also rattles when in 5th gear say 2.5k rpm, but when you go above it dissapears.

I like the sound of it, I dont think its that loud really unless you boot it. I wanna keep it but if it carries on pissing me off rattling I think im gonna swap!

it could be the heatshield catching on it, mine used to do it. an easy and cheap fix is to use some strong cable ties around the mounts to make them more secure and less play

My Magnex is banging the same way but not for much longer!! Role on Novemeber. :D
