:) Thanks very much to all those people that were helpful when I was looking for help with the power steering, but it wasn't oil leaking, but water, :? which is what I suggested in the first place. (What do I know I'm only a dad!!)
There is a definite leak from the radiator. Is it better to have it repaired or to get a new/ used item and replace it? Any advice gratefully accepted, and suggestions as to where to acquire one. Thanks.

Thanks lads, a new one it will be. It looks a pretty straight forward job to replace the old one.

Yeah for the odd £20-30 extra might as well get that alu one, looks better :p Simple enough to fit pain squeezing fan out though!

:) Thanks everybody for your help. Much appreciated.
GWEEB and Bristol Sam, if you read Maxiboy and Willylover correctly, they are saying that the item for sale at GSF, is the Valeo 'ally' item at the £86 price, not the £112 price as posted on ebay.
It certainly pays to ask you boys first, before dipping into the 'piggy bank'.

Bristol Sam, what is the problem with getting the fan out. :? A friend of mine is doing the job, plenty of experience as a mechanic, but any tips gratefully accepted. Thanks, carbman. 8)

as you lift the fan and radiator out its can be difficult to squeeze it past the iscv attached to the manifold. sometimes its worth removing that first.

yes check the gsf item is the ally one as gsf tend to supply what they have and not always valeo items.

Yeah, just found that out. Phoned local branch in Leeds, and they're talking about a Nissin or Hella brand, not the Valeo. Emailed head honcho to see what they have to say, and offer, re: Valeo item.

re: getting it out, I found I had to undo the two bolts that attach the fan at the top, then just let the fan fall back and rest against the block while I lifted the rad out.

This was after I swore repeatedly at the bloody annoying clamp things that connect the rad to the rest of the system and require molegrips and arms like a child to get to... lol
