Is this worth repairing? Which part numbers do I need to replace? Prices?

Insuarance company want to pay repairing, but I'm afraid my clio will never be like before.

Thanks

i would think its beyond economical repair as the sills and b pilliar is damaged.

but you will need rear quarter 400 odd quid from renault and a door not sure on the renault price plus the repair and paint. i would estimate 1500 to 2000 easy.

I had a quote for just doing my rear 1/4 with no sill damage and that was £1400. I also had someone drive in to my pass. door and that job cost in excess of £900.

That job on yours will be easily over £2k so if your insurer is willing to do it then let them.

depends on the laws in the country and also on what labour costs are!

I know in hong kong they have some right weird rules on cars and even if a car has been turned in to a cube they will try and repair it due to the silly laws they have on new cars!

Valvers aren`t that easy to get here in Europe because there isn`t many left. You Brits bought almoust all of them, and still buy the highest number of Renault Sports cars.

i never thought of that mate
does that make it a high value car because they cant replace it easy ?

It doesn`t exactly make it a high value car for the insurance companies, but it`s almoust easier to get the Formula 1 car than a mint valver here in Slovenia (also ex Yugoslavian country). We don`t have 10 Williamses left in the entire country, but I would imagine it gets even worse in Montenegro. People here weren`t that rich to buy such cars when they were new, so it`s dificult to get a good example of a used one aswell. In Slovenia any valver that isn`t wrecked is imported from Italy (we are neighbours) but still there isn`t many of them left. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. :)

any thing can be repaired. New section from scrap car and new sill should see it right

It'll be finished in few days, as I could see everything is OK.

I'm really satisfied how it is done, and of course it drives perfectly!

After few months of driving another car, it's really great fun to be in valver again.

I've bought green door and window at a junkyard from old clio 1.4 at bargain price. I just need to find side moldings.

different country - different rules?

Duli
26-12-2007, 14:50
You can buy the parts yourself if you get them cheaper and the insurance gives you the money for new original ones so you can save some money there. ;)

superfive
26-12-2007, 16:30
I took the money from insurance company and did it on my own with partly new parts and partly second hand parts.

Justin..
26-12-2007, 17:11
They didnt write it off then?

Do they check the car to see if the work has been carried out?

superfive
27-12-2007, 11:38
Nobody checked anything, except me.

I just signed contract at insurance company that I'm taking the money and that I do not have any other requests from them. So I took 2850 euros and did it on my own for 650 euros :)
