I think my oil pressure gauge has screwed up... When I start the car it sits at the top bout 6 then when its warm it goes to about 2 on tick over and at 3000 rpm its at about 4, is this to high?

Thanks mate, so even though when I first start it it goes really hi this is ok? It only sits there for a minute on start up then goes a bit more normaler.... I suppose the main thing to worry about is a sudden drop or change..

Depends on the oil as well. For ?W- 40 oils, fully warmed up idle should be about 1 (sometimes less) and about 3 at 3000rpm.

just think of it from an oil point of view. When the oil is cold its thicker and more viscous, thus pressure can be increased easily as the oild is imply thicker. When it warms up it gets thinner and pressure is harder to maintain hence its drop. So from start up mine is high, lowers during warm tickover and increases as it is rev'd.

nothing to worry about....save that for your gearbox and rear arches! haha

most bodyshops will do them mucka, very common problem all just depends on how bad they are, i think for a top notch job with welding and all shite cut out its circa £150-200 per side

Mines 4 when cold (6 when driven cold for 5 mins or so), 1 when hot and when being driven hard drops to 0.25 on tickover.
