View Full Version : Induction change.......
Hello all.
Right I currently have a k&n induction kit fitted to my williams 1.
Its getting a little old so im thinking of replacing it.
So my question is what do I go for, another k&n or something else?
I personally love the k&n as it sounds amazing, like a turbo!
Was thinking of one of the viper kits k-tec sell the blue one. Anyone know what these are like? There more money but look amazing, do they sound and perform as good as the k&n?
Anyway recomendations please guys......
Cheers

std or Grp A.
standard airbox with an ITG filter is the easiest solution. If you can be arsed, then as above you can fit a grpA style set-up or likely easier is to relocate the filter to the scuttle area.

whts grp a?! u can have a green cotton filter ;)
standard airbox with ITG filter IMO unless you have a decent ir feed to a K+N filter rigged up.

I'd like to know too! I'm thinking about changing the K&N for something a bit more 'productive'.
cylindrical airbox as found on 172/21 savanna with a a feed taken from a scoop at the scuttle.
Do a search theres been pics posted by Gibbo in the past.
Or go to wwww.f7power.com and check out the guides on there.

Yeah its all set up so may just purchase a new one to swap over.

ive changed from a viper kit back to a standard as the viper doesnt let as much air into the engine due to the shape of the bracket and was loosing me horsepower if i had a standard engine i wouldnt have minded!

Must say, I had a Viper on mine and I took it off. Did not like it at all. Now I run a K&N, stainless steel heatshield and twin cold air feeds. The car is much more responsive and it sounds fantastic. I think the heatshield is helping.
My only suggestion would be perhaps go for a Green filter as they are the biggest open cone on the market, yeah? Get a heatshield as well and see if that's any better. :)

As its all set up think ill go for a new k&n filter as well as a de-cat pipe from ktec to complement my powerflow system.

I know it's OT but why does it keep changing the 2's for the word poo? (i try to put in 1 8 2 bhp and it comes out 18poo. grrr
I would just keep the standard airbox and get a decent gauze filter (not k&n as it has oil in it which may clog parts up).

k&n sounds nothing like a turbo, believe me  tbh the turbo sounds a little disappointing compared to a n/a i/k roar! :(
