well like i said mate, fabricate a plate to mount to an existing valver box mount, just takin the thickness of the plate off the bottom of thevalver mount to keep it level

You should be able to buy a mount for the megane box. I thought about fabricating one for the Kangoo box, but the proper renault mount was only about £18 brand new.

True. It was only when I thought I really cant be arsed to make one that I bothered to phone Renault to find out how much the proper one is. Not worth messing around for less than £20 I reckon.

yes i am a tight Yorkshireman, however i will in this case invest in the mount.

Whats the verdict on the kangoo box Mark?

Kangoo box seemed very good. I knew 1st gear was a bit pointless, but 2nd-5th are extremely good for the track. Max speed is down to about 130mph on the speedo (@125 genuine) so is much more useable for track work, although it revs its nuts off when on the motorway.

I think the synchros arent going to be quite as strong as the Willy ones, but it just means not ramming it through the gears so quick.

On a proper track, I think its going to be extremely good. Needed about 400bhp+ for the track at Bruntingthorpe to be any fun.

And I can thoroughly recommend everyone really beefing up their engine/box mounts, as I'm starting to feel that the slop in the mounts is what damages the diff and driveshaft inner joints the most. Not the power thats being developed.

What mounts did you uprate.

The only mount i have uprated is the dogbone (with a Hillpower uprated mount)

I have the Hillpower uprated dogbone, the extra 19 16v bottom gearbox mount and then fill all the gaps/holes in all the rubber mounts with polyurethane sealant.

No slop at all now. Also less likely to break the downpipe which is another common failing on the Willys.

Did the 19 16v have an extra gearbox mount then?

Did you get it from reno? If so how much and how easy / where to fit it?

I can see a fitting guide shortly appearing Mark ;)

Spoke to Nick too, and the 19 16v engine mount is a good idea to stiffen the engine up a bit.

And get a new Williams box and fit that.

Got my 19 mount 2nd hand. It was sat in the corner of the workshop on an old blown 19 16v gearbox that for some reason I hadnt sent down the scrappies. Its gone now though.
