As above just wondering how to botch it in as the new pump is smaller than the old one.

any pics ?

your pump may be seperate from your sender being on a J reg

Yeah it is seperate, the uprated pump I have is meant for valvers/williams where the sender and pump are in 1 unit hence the pump is physically a smaller size.

That means the plastic casing for the pump is a bit too large, Im thinking of wrapping some rubber around and wedging it in, shouldn't matter long as its firmly stuck in?

Just any old foam? Didn't think of that :D did you use any adhesive or anything or just wrap it in foam and wedge it in?

the cover comes apart then you can fit it inside that with some old rubber inner tube wrapped around it.

Looks like the cover on yours comes apart differently to mine thou, mine splits top and bottom whereas yours is a vertical split. I can't take mine apart because those metal bars run down and you can't remove them :(

it slides off the metal bars if you remove the clips.

You can see a metal plate on the end of one of the metal tubes stopping me from taking it off :(

Couldn't get the metal piece off in the end had to snap it and botch a bolt in on refitting!

Cheers maxiboy got some inner tubing and put it round few times and taped it, fitted in nice n snug!

Now just have to re-fit the tank... oh the joy.
