View Full Version : sorry for silly question, but please help

been watchin this forum for a few weeks now guys n gals,

just bought myself a williams 3 and thanks to all the knowledge gained here i knew what to look for in a good car and a duff :)

anyhow got the car home and just a few silly ods n sods that need sorted to set the car right, except for 1 thing i cant figure out lol :?

the aux belt is slipping sometimes, more often when its wet, but i cant for the life of me find the tensioner :oops:

can comeone please point me in the right direction, as to where it is located and how hard it is to get to??

yes mate there is a large tensioner on the belt. its a large nut held in place by a 7mm allen key. undone the key adjust tension using big nut tighten allen key. its a bitch to get to though.

i understand what you mean with the tensioner thanks, any pointers on where exactly it is tho, lol

From what i remember of doing mine, i found it easiest to whip out the drivers headlight and go in through there..

under neath the engine mounts just above the chassis rail.

sorry i cant find a edit button, just wanted to say i got it sorted,
thanks again to the helpful guys on this forum, :P

and yeah the job was 10x times easier , removing the drivers headlight to gain access, id recommend this method to anyone :idea: ...
