ever since ive had my clio there seems to be a little lag before the power kicks in. im not referring to revs..im used to turbo i suppose, but throttle repsonce seems to be a little down. is it possible the accelerator cable cud have too much slack?
Im expectd new exahust n chip soon so maybe that'll help. sorry to be a bt vague...but i had a 1.9gti 205 once, which is probably most similar car and that was very connected compared to clio

gold plaques can spin on it. everyone knows willy 3 are the best :) ive never had a williams b4 and I have to admit, although i dont get the rush as I did with my r5, I get alot more all round. im so happy with it. although this site is hugely smaller than the rtoc, ive had a couple of bargain parts and top advice off people on here. chuffed to bits aswell. all the willy engines seem to be strong. if i properly look after it, keep it relatively standard, shud i see some nice hasslefree motoring days? anything i can do for reliablilty? ive put low temp switch and thermo on...

must admit my Willy feels strange and slightly sow on pick up.... I put it down to driving turbo diesel company cars for years with a bit fat wedge of torque..... just not used to having to rev a car again to get the most out of it.....

BTW - Williams 1 rules!!!!!! :P :P

My williams seems to be crap some days. Other days its on fire. Giving them a good thrash makes mine happy 8) Try leaving the battery off and reseting the ECU sometimes it helps.

Fatboy - a little strange... some things I remember very well, others not....

I have to keep reminding myself that I am now in a 13 year old car rather than a 6 year old one.... hence more wear & tear.... feel more guilty about pressing on in case something brakes....

It isn't as quick as I remember, but the game has moved on in terms of performance for standard cars.... also handling not quite as sharp, but I'll reserve judgement on this untill I get some proper rubber.... otherwise experience much the same in terms of the character of the car... the farts, the burbles, how some days it wants to play, others not.....

Willy 3's are the shitters of a fine group of cars...

The throttle response of the 205 GTi has always been regarded as ultra quick and precise (hence why it's a bitch to drive in traffic), so the Williams will seem a little less responsive in comparison. :)

i have a 3 and suffered similar when i bought it as the accellerator was a little stiff i thought. there was play in the spring loaded return part right near the throttle housing. It was also routed differently and so had lots of bends in it, i replaced it with a brand new item, re-routed it to reduce the bends and make it as smooth as possible and bought a new heat shield. Just going through the usual things when buying an older car, changing (for new items)
- dizzy,
- leads,
- plugs,
- lambda,
- oil,
- filters,

and check for air leaks and exhaust leaks. can make a big difference, especially in the manifold.

williams 3 is the rarest as we all know...and also the last to be made...less of those shitty bugs and niggles to sort. ill keep all my extras and exclusivity over a gayass little plaque anyday. hahaha.
