Hi guys,

Quick one, any ideas what causes an idle like this?

It always idled fine before i took my engine out and had new tappets, cambelt, clutch etc installed, then i re installed the engine and it's idled funny ever since.

Here's a vid of the idle:

That's just sitting at traffic lights.

The valve stem seals/valve guides are fooked so my engine is burning oil but i doubt thats the reason. I think my lambda is shagged because of the amount of oil i'm burning, could that be causing it?

Cheers!

Looks liek lamba tbh, mine did that but only when it was cold, but it dropped down further to the point of almost stalling, also kangarooed when it was cold

Same symptoms as mine really, idles at 500RPM sometimes and it kangaroos all over the place!

Well i've got a working lambda in my spare valver manifold so i'll whack that on when i get my new head fitted and hopefully should be sweet then!

hey mate, looks dodgy that. If it's not lambda check for an airleak somewhere.

It's possible it's an air leak. My head is siliconed up to fook (grr @ GDI not using gaskets!)

I'm picking up a new head to go on soon so hopefully that'll cure any air leaks. Then i'll whack on the new lambda and see how we go after that..

It's fookin annoyin tho revving like that lol!

Can a noob like me fit one?

Yes they are very easy to fit. They're just a bitch to unscrew sometimes as they weld themselves to the pipe!
