ive got engine oil on my filter, wats the best way to clean it?

I thought take it out, carb cleaner dousage all over it, let it drip, then once as much shits off of it as possible, wash it with water then leave to dry. That what i did with my old ones and worked perfect :)

They're supposed to have oil on them though aren't they, to stop dust getting in?

Sure you aren't mistaking that for engine oil?

yeah your right they are oiled to help keep the dust out.

but this is definitly engine oil,.

That will be from the pre-filter crack case oil breather. Not much point cleaning it unless its dripping in it?

make sure you reoil the filter once its clean

ive found fairy liquid and hot water are pretty good at cleanin foam filters

you can usually pick the kit up on Ebay

if not, ITG generally use Silkolene filter oil, which i think www.a-pp.com probably sell
