ok cheers. well im abit lost in that case. i have a brand new rad, new water pump & thermostat, which i have replaced twice now, i recent heater matrix & checked all the coolant pipes where clear before fitting, but the car is still running so hot that it causes the fan to come on while im driving along! sitting at the 3/4 mark all the time, this is without booting it. there isn't an air lock in as far as i can tell. anyone have any other suggestions? as i have no idea what to try next.

any help gratley recieved. :?

could flush the engine out. You've replaced all the main components to be honest

are you using the right concentration of coolant ?

id try a flush product then take off the bottom hose and flush it all out with the hose once its cooled down

well the coolant ive got says to mix it 50/50 with water, so thats what i did. think i'll try flushing it out with the hose once its stopped raining. :(

use a flush product, all the shit will collect at the bottom hose

Mine around town sits at the second line Think its half way cant remember. On a steady drive out of town it sits inbetween first and second line.

but the second big line is where the fan comes on? over half way.

Fan should come on at 3/4 of gauge or 3rd line.

sorry yeah, and this is where the gauge is sat pretty much most of the time.

is the radiator adequate for the extra power ? do you have enough airflow with that FMIC ? i'd say you're blocking off too much of the rad, you could try some water wetter in your coolant or get a nice spal fan and stop worrying about the fan being on (some cars have viscous fans that are on all the time)

good plan, where do you get hold of water wetter?

yea water wetter is good stuff, give it a go, also what coolant are you using, if its cheapo stuff try putting some OE stuff in, or some 5 year stuff
