which oils ???

just a quick few questions although i'm sure they've been asked a few times before........

what grade engine oil is best.......10w/40.....15w/40 ???

what gearbox should i use ???

had a look today and i'm not sure about the box drain bung......is it next to where the gear linkage enters the box or is it at the bottom of the diff ??? also is the level bung the plastic wing nut on the front of the box ??

any help would be greatly appreciated......thanx :D

i run 5w/40w engine oil.

level plug is plastic wing nut on the front of the box. drain is one near the gear change.

Do a search mate, you will find loads of threads about oils....or PM oilman.

Personally speaking for road use I'd highly recommend Shell Helix 10/40 semi, I have used this many times and runs sweet. For track use I'd recommend a fully synthetic, I have just changed to Castrol Edge 10/60, seems good, oil pressure seems better too. Shell Helix Ultra 5/40 is supposed to be good too. I have also used Mobil 1 but didn't like it, engine was too tappety. There are many options mate!

Gearbox...I run Castrol SAF-XJ but have an LSD. Not sure what other people on here use...
