Thought it was all going too smoothley.

Little surprises like this are not welcome. Especially after last years debacle. FCS are on there last chance with 75% people this time round i'd say. Certainly the people i know and have spoke too anyway.

I am sassuming you don't realise track time is subsidised 100% on track day prices.

Our option was 100 x £150 open pit = £15'000

or

club sessions which net us £7000.

Book a track are running the tracka s they do all the time at Rockingham as follows:-

Passenger wristbands cost regardless of who is running the track day as track days incur insurance costs. Add a passenger and the liability increases.

This is the sixth FCS with a track aspect and the sixth year a small fee has been payable to the track day operator on the day each year and I believe it also costs £5.

This is unavoidable and no different to last year when your club had a track session.

FCS has presold 5000 tickets and the feedback I get is in the main 100% positive

Thanks

I think what Big Hp is saying that we were unaware of the extra costs mark.

I do not remember paying any extra for passengers last year...as ive said in my email.

Not a problem but i would of liked to have known 6 months ago as wc tracktime is £42 to cover a additional sticker.

Looks like i will be out on my own for this tracktime now.

do you do track days?

This is an insurance charge thats billed on each track day for passengers.

Passengers are actually a greater risk to insurers than the driver.

This has been on the cards every single year so not sure why an issue this year.

Like I said I have subsidised the track to the tune of £8000 I am not doing anymore.

Call Rockingham and you get no change out of 15k for the national track alone and I have collected less than £7k pre vat.

Cheers
Mark

Yes Mark i do trackdays. Passengers and extra drivers were free on our last one.

Please dont take our comments personally. I am just suprised at this new information coming to light now. It is an additional cost that i wasnt informed about. Now i now its ok. I will inform my members. Thank you.

So it is confirmed at £5 a passenger ?
Will this fee be added - when tracktimers go and sign ?
Do passengers need to sign on with the tracktimers ?
Is there a age limit on passengers ? (under 12's ?)
Is it £5 a passenger per passenger or £5 to cover the car for all passengers ?

Sorry but I'm confused here.

How come I can do a full day open pitlane in November for £199?

Surely at roughly £40 for 30 minute sessions presuming I do more than 5 in a day that equates to the same price?

So why is it such an amazing deal?

It just appears to be exactly the same as a normal trackday?

After the farce that was FCS 2005 I am hoping for much better things or I will not be attending anymore.

:D

I think the points that are trying to be made Mark are:

A) No one knew hence the question being asked, personally i havn't done track time before at FCS so I didnt know if passengers had to pay and thats why I asked he question.

B) The 30 minute slot at £37 or whatever the total cost was is pretty steep as it is IMHO only of course, when I have done full days at Oulton and Brands etc for £169.

Dont we sign a disclaimer anyway for liability ? what makes passengers any different ?

:D

My comment Mark was aimed at the fact that its less then a week to FCS and a additional cost crops up. Its not fair IMO for the people that have already paid, made plans etc, to now have to fork out more money when they have already paid more than enough.

A little bit of notice would of been nice.

passenger rides have been free for all the track days i've ever done, and i've done quite a few now. guess it depends on the organisers though. Not that i'm giving anyone a passenger ride so it doesn't affect me, but I am a bit miffed as to why this is only coming to light now?

The other people on track last year ruined it IMO. One of them nearly took my mate out.

Plus poor northy had to sit and watch us go round, and round, and round with no marshall assistance

Ok guys, once u have the tickets from me for the tracktime you need to go and sign on in garges 35 & 36.

Passengers are £5 max for all day. But i would suggest that u will only get out with williamsclio unless u know every club there and can get in a car.

I am speaking to FCS - so dont get upset yet.
