Decided to buy something cheap for towing the cup racer, as hiring a van works out quite expensive (about 100quid for a couple days), on top of that I have trailer hire, which isn't so bad, just having to hire a tow car/van is a pain in the butt. So bought something cheap to do the job instead!

This cost me 500quid, has 160k on the clocks, on the plus side, runs very smooth, all motorway miles, 4 brand new nankang tyres, decent stereo and cd changer, very comfortable to drive! Massive boot space (you could sleep in it quite easy), air con, fully adjustable leccy seats, leccy everything infact, even come with a cd head unit and 8 disc changer (must be worth a few hundred alone).

1997 Vauxhall Omega GLS Estate 2.0L 16v - rear wheel drive as well  1800kg towing capacity :D

Oh yeah the head unit also come with a remote control, lol. Must be worth 200 for the hu and changer, so that with the 200 for the tyres, this car owes me 100quid, which is what I would have spent on van rental for 1 trackday, so it will have paid for itself pretty quick.

Wow, what a great towing car. I'd much rather one of these over something like, say, a Xantia. Look at all that space. And I imagine it's faster than, say, a 90bhp diesel. Jesh, what a good buy.

Yes very true, I think they use the BMW engine? Which is bullet proof... But I needed something asap as trackday at weekend, literally found this on trader went to view it last night and bought it. Did look at a few others yesterday but complete shit condition.

Aye hope so lol else im shafted. Gonna give it a quick service, oil, filters and plugs before I go.

Does need new front shockers and brake pads are getting low, but other than that she seems mechanically sound. MOT'd until end of October as well.
