As for whats happening on cs, don't ask me, I don't really know a great deal.

Thanks all, Jon

Hello Jon welcome to the site 8)

Ta guy's.

All I know is Admin took the decision to lock the forum - for how long they haven't even told us.

I have requested that they put up some form of communication so everybody know's whats going on. Hopefully they will soon.

Unfortunatly 99% of users seem to have been prevented from using the forum to talk about sensible topics.

On the week leading up to FCS, this is less than ideal lol.

alright Jon, another migration over to WC! I hope that you didn't not register earlier because you thought you may not be welcome?

remember we are just car enthusiasts, so any like minded people are welcome. only rule is dont mention the word 'cruise/cruize' as this carries a death penalty

Or "Body unless your refering to the female form, or "kit" unless you refering to............errrrrr..........the car from Knight rider

lol, trust me - I won't mention the word cruise, lol.

Ill admit I was a little hesitant in signing up, some peoples of the views on the CS mods aren't to great. Hopefully I've always been open and honest with everyone thats ever talked to me!

Glad i'm here anyway! :D

Jon, i've spoken to you a few times on CS and you have always striked me as being a sound bloke, Tom and James are the ones people seem to have a problem with, but i've met Tom and he was a nice lad, just quiet. I have been irritated by both in the way the post at people and not to them, but I dont really hold a grudge, life goes on and it doesn't impact mine...

so after that, please feel free to post, you are more than welcome here pal :D

Thank you. Yer people are always pretty different in real life to what they appear on the forum and behind a keyboard.

In real life i'm a right arsehole

First and formost though I am a car enthusiast so I look forward to hanging around.

Likewise, always maintained that the thread that should bind everyone is the CARS, keyboards have a way of affecting some people in strange ways.

Having never met anyone from either forum, one is forced to make a judgement on what they post, in fairness most people seem 8)

You say that, lol, valver is on the shortlist.

Still have the silver cup for a couple more months - Nurburgring again shortly! - but selling soon after.

I'm heading towards a Xsara VTS, cheap and fairly quick.

Sketchy handling though Jon. My mate had one and it was Pooh.

Valvers are good cars. I had 2 before my williams.

Hmm, maybe ill have to wangle a test drive in one. Also thinking about a 306 Rallye maybe.

This growing up and buying a house lark is really depressing!

306 Rallye :D

My mates got a 306 gti-6 and there awesome cars and not too different to a rallye. On that basis i'd say go for a Rallye.

Everyone knows that the only reason people buy 306's, is because they cant afford a Williams.

lol - i almost bought a gti-6  but got the williams cos it was cheaper (3 years ago)

My mates got a 306 gti-6 and there awesome cars and not too different to a rallye. On that basis i'd say go for a Rallye.

But not a Xsara? It's nigh on the same chassis.

I'd have the Xsara anyday, having driven both it and a Rallye. The gear ratios of the 6 are bobbins and render the advantage of a 6spd box useless.

Ive got to say the Xsara does look like a coffin on wheels though.

The whole idea is to sell the Cup and stop the massive out goings each month. I need the money to pay rent/mortgage - not sure yet - with the other half so i'm looking to buy something out-right for about 2.5k

Ideally though it has to be useable for both the work commute and for all the trackdays.

You seem to be able to get a reasonable Xsara for 2.5k so it was my first choice, but i'd have to have a drive in one first.

I forgot to say, welcome Jon.

I like the Xsara, but then I used to own one. Apparently there is a Xsara owners club showing at the FCS which I'll be intrigued to see. The g/f is very close to the idea of getting one.

Having owned one and driven a few 306s (XSI, DTurbo, Rallye) I can honestly say that the Xsara is a far more comfortable car than the 306 could ever be and that bit more modern in the interior. I haven't yet owned a car that was comfier on long distances than the Xsara. I once did a mammoth 8 1/2 journey to Cornwall (there were a few problems on the way) and apart from having fooked eyes when I finally got there physically I felt fresh as a daisy.

Welcome Dude! 8)

Gotta say, i quite like the rallye, drivin my mates a few times and not to disimilar to the Williams in many ways.....love the gearbox on the rallye, sweet as a nut....may look at gettin one of these myself towards the end of the year and keeping the Williams for Weekends and Trackdays possibly.

Everyone knows that the only reason people buy 306's, is because they cant afford a Williams.

I sold my GTi 6 so I could pay off my overdraft and have enough for another car...my Williams.

306 Rallye or GTi 6 are both the absolute bollocks. Not as focused and light on its feet as a Clio, but a better daily proposition. Such a well resolved chassis too. I'll stop now before someone tells me to piss off!
