Before i consult the haynes - has anyone done a gaiter renewal on the drive shafts ?

I need to replace the passenger side one on the CUP car!

Yep, it's not too difficult. I took the whole driveshaft out which is a bit of a pain as you have to drain and refill the gearbox - I think you could probably do it with the end still in the box if it is just the outer gaitor that has gone. Or for a really easy job you can buy gaitors that come in two pieces and you just stick them together over the shaft - they aren't great but they are a doddle to fit!

its the gaitor nearest the box.

Thought the bolts had come loose as its weeping oil, but i think the gaitor is at fault.

Do u get a new metal ring thing aswell ?

Guide here (its for the outer gater but you have to remove the inner 1 first so it covers that as well) :

Piece of piss to do realy only annoying thing is having to drain and refill the box, the gaitor comes off over the bearing easily enough.

Remember which way the metal plate goes on though as I put it back on the wrong way round and all the oil came out :(
