Cars not been happy for the past few days, when you dip the clutch the revs drop so so so low I swear its about to stall but then 'just' picks up and after a few seconds lifts the rpm back to idle..

Thing is its not every time, nor dependant on weather conditions but obviously when your just about to move out onto a road from a junction its not nice thinking its gonna stall.

It's stalled once and only once..

Anyone have any ideas?

mmm....does it Kangaroo a bit...and does it kind of rev up high...then settle down again? Could be the lamba sensor.... :?

Nope - Nick hill said my reading were the best of the day the other months he said the lambda was spot on...

I thought that at first but its running fine apart from this

mine is doing similar thing... when the bay gets v hot sitting at lights etc sometimes the revs drop... has stalled about 6 or 7 times now doing it. just haven't had the time to investigate yet.

As above mine does this, revs drop and sometimes cuts out when clutch is dipped.

Was the electric radiator fan switched on whenever this gremlin happens? I am guessing with summer temperatures, the rad fan current drain might be causing some of the weirder electric problems that you don't experience during cooler seasons.

had this problem was the vehicle speed sensor that caused it.

No fan - can do it after 2 hours continuous traffic in this silly heat we've had or can do it just after starting the car

How do i go about sorting out a speed sensor if it is that?

is the speed sensor not part of the speedo cable. also i thought speed sensor fault was mainly after you had ragged the car.

mines just done this twice today after stopping at some traffic lights, as soon as the clutch was dipped before a halt, the engine stalled.

I'm thinking speed sensor faulty/loose connection maybe.

mines doing the same

sometimes if i try and hold the revs steady the engine will rev randomly. revs fluctuating. other times it doesnt do it

but lately when i dip the clutch the revs either drop to about 400-500 then pick up or it stalls???

really pissing me off :? :?

Dont know if it is the same as the RSi but my car did this...

I had to replace the ICV (idle control valve) this seemed to cure it

Yep mine does this too, worse when its cold as where its on choke it affects it more.

Have checked, CTS, earthed speedo cable, ISCV, lambda

Possbily faulty road speed sensor as mentioned above.

P/N for new speedo cable?

Wierdly for the last few days its been perfect - but now I've said that it'll probably return in leaps and bounds....
